I have had the wonderful opportunity to be part of education for 11 years. I have majored in Psychology and have always been interested in working with kids which lead me to the education program at the University of Colorado, Denver. I decided to become a teacher but I wanted to be challenged and work with students that needed extra support. I obtained my elementary license but wanted more. I then started my journey into Exceptional Student Services. I have a MA in Special Education and have worked with the most impacted students for over six years. I was encouraged to take on many leadership roles which lead to my experience with online learning. I started my journey by building a program for students that needed credit recovery. This lead to a full day program and then a night school from a grant that increased the graduation rate for the school and gave opportunities for students that needed a second chance. With this experience, I wanted to impact students on a larger scale and started my principal licensure program. I was given a wonderful opportunity to become an assistant principal. During this time, I was in charge of activities, instruction, teacher evaluations, mentoring and grants. My focus has always been with alternative education and have always found opportunities to work in that realm. My journey has now lead to this wonderful opportunity here at APS Avenues. I am honored to be here to expand opportunity for all students.

My job is to accelerate learning for every APS student, every day. I do my job by leading an innovative learning environment for teachers and students to excel and by expanding online and blended learning opportunities for all students in APS to design and shape a successful future. My community needs me to do my job.
